Lesson 3: Conversation Step

Promenade Position

The Promenade Position is frequently used in side steps such as the Conversation Step. From Closed Position, the man should cross his right foot in front of his left foot and the woman should cross her left foot in front of her right foot. This will bring the man’s right hip and the woman’s left hip in contact, or near-contact, forming a “V” with their bodies. The upper body hold remains the same as in Closed Position.
